I've been running Hadoop in Hyper-V, yet my laptop has limited memory. When running Hyper-V with limited memory, it becomes slow using 3 to 4 gigs of memory, when it requires 8 or more. So here's a fix to get it running faster:
It will require a change to the registry:
- Start Registry Editor.
- Locate the following registry subkey:
- Right-click the Virtualization folder, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type MemoryReserve, and then press Enter.
- Double-click MemoryReserve, enter 2048 in the Value data box, select the Decimal option, and then click OK.
- Close Registry Editor.
Add new node:
Reboot and start Hyper-V.
