We are really at the edge of technology where having a Remote Workforce can be optimal.
I know at my part time job, they actually don't have space available so they had the entire IT team work from home.
And they employee people across the country for specific skills and cost savings, as you can hire people in remote areas where salaries are lower and commutes don't matter.
With the Cloud Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service, it's just a matter of time before more and more company's start hiring remote workers.
Take it a step further, and those remote workers can be hired for specific projects per contract.
I still think the typical full time job is becoming obsolete and the Independent Contractor's will flourish.
That's my 2 cents!
