I'd have to say that being a "Hands on Team Lead" is my favorite position since I began work in 1991.
Finally, the freedom to get the job done, in the most efficient manor.
Prioritizing the work based on demand and hierarchy.
Delegating the work based on complexity, available resources and business knowledge.
Representing the department in meeting.
Talking and interacting with the customers on a daily basis.
Mentoring the developers.
Rolling up the sleeves when the work has to get done.
I don't know what's come over me. 20 years of working and I finally found a job that peaks my interest and intellectual curiosity.
Now if they just paid me market value and bumped up my salary by $20k, we'd really be liking work.
